John Travolta And His Family At Relais Plaza Restaurant In Paris
We spotted the legendary actor, his lovely wife Kelly Preston and their kids, a son named Jett and a daughter named Ella Bleu, getting out the Relais Plaza restaurant in the city of lights. NORTH AMERICA ONLY!
Jett clearly suffered from a mental deficiency of some kind. It is shameful that Scientology does not have the sense to recognize the brain as an organ that can suffer illness like any other.
It's so true. From the breaking news that I heard today, he should have taken better care of his son. He needed meds, and in Scientoloyg they don't believe that. RIP with my deepest condolences Jett. Maybe God take you in his wing.
You can't judge these parents until you have walked in their shoes. I have worked with special ed kids for a long time and every child is different. I don't think there are meds to "cure" autism. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the Travolta's. Whatever you or I think, these people have LOST a son. Someone they loved dearly, show some compassion. We are not here to judge and since these people have money it is so easy to judge them harsher than needs to be done.
As someone who works with special needs children, I have no doubt he suffered from autism (the obvious stimming and slack stare), I feel horrible for the travolta's in losing a son, but it is horrible that he was apparently he was not given adequate treatment. May he rest in peace
that comment is so low - disgusting. Insulting somebody on the day their son died, and you've gotta love the fact that somebody would insult scientology and then finish on "Maybe God take you in his wing"
I never write comments but that crap is so offensive, i feel compelled to.
It's a sick world and this vicarious view point adds to the sickness.
Nobody here is a medical doctor. How dare you make statements like that? How the hell can you diagnose Jett from a 2 minute video? MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
The poor family lost their son. That is a tragedy. May Jett's soul be embraced by God. May he rest in peace.
The Travolta family has suffered the greatest loss one can, the loss of their child.
God bless them. Pray for them and the soul of their child. Only God can judge us..let it go.
Although it's hard not to focus on the way the Travolta family chose to deal with Jett's obvious mental illness, I hope this doesn't overshadow the fact that the family has suffered an overwhelming and tragic loss and THAT should be the focus right now. They should be extended the same respect and compassion as any grieving family and perhaps the appropriate time will answer those questions that the media will obviously pray on immediately.
My deepest sympathies go out to the Travolta family...

I'm sorry that Jett Travolta died and I feel sorry for his parents, but Jett was not a normal 17 teen year old
May the Travolta family find peace in a world where everyone is so quick to throw blame. No one here on earth is perfect. No one knows how the Travolta's dealt with Jett's handicap. May the Travolta family's pain lesson each day and may their days be filled with beautiful memories as each day passes. God bless Jett.

For goodness sake. Who are any of us to make judgement or speculate on how Jett lived his life.
Children no matter, should not leave this earth before their parents.
My sincere thoughts and wishes are with John, Kelly and Ella Bleu. Jett was a son, grandson and brother...loved by all who knew him I am sure.
Leave this family to grieve and repair

I too have worked with special needs children and Jett does exhibit signs of a form of autism. He did not behave in the normal fashion of a 16 year old male and Kawasaki's would not do that as it has long lasting effects on the heart and not the brain. However, whether or not Jett was autistic is beside the point...he passed away today and there is a family that has suffered and unimaginable loss. I too wish the media would allow them to grieve and mourn in private just as we non-famous people are allowed. This is a deeply emotional event and I am not interested in watching some slime of a reporter stick a mic in someone's face and ask what they are feeling.
RIP Jett....
My prayers to the Travolta Family on the loss of your loving son....God Bless
To the Travolta family, my heart was still when I heard of your tragic loss. No words can express our deepest heartfelt sympathies to you. May God be with you and hold you close.
My deepest sympathy to this family for their tragic loss. Since Scientologists do not believe in God, I will just say they are in my thoughts and I hope this poor child rests in peace.
From watching this video it is clear that Jett suffered from Autism. I know because my son suffers from Autism. A normal teenager wouldn't need to be led by the hand. He also has that vacant stare and he didn't have any speech it seemed. John and Kelly did him a real disservice by not caring for his seizures. Seizures are common in autistic teenaged boys. He fell in the bathroom because he had a seizure and he had multiple seizures in the past. Had he been medicated for his seizures this wouldn't have happened. I hate Scientology. John and Kelly have no one to blame but themselves.

Hugs to john and family sorry for your loss may the angels wings guide jett home and may god bless your family at this sad time
I have 2 sons with autism and i cant believe how cruel some comments on here are, whether they believed in it or not that is their choice, have a heart and respect for the family they have just lost there son
BOY HERE WE GO AGAIN. TALL POPPY WANKERS JEALOUS OF SOMEONE THEY THINK ARE BETTER OFF THEN THEM. THEY DESERVE NOTHING BUT PRAISE AND ADMIRATION IF IN FACT YOUNG JETT HAD AUTISM. I CAN ONLY SEE 2 PARENTS WHO ADORED BOTH THEIR KIDS AND WERE VERY PROUD PARENTS WHO DID NOT WORRY ABOUT WHAT IDIOTS SAID ABOUT THEIR SON. GROW UP LOSERS LET THEM GREAVE IN PIECE. RIP JETT AND GOD BLESS THE TRAVOLTAS
Just because I parent may not talk about sometime in public does not mean that they dont acknowledge it. What was wrong with Jett was no ones business but his family's. If he was autistic or not I believe that they would have done whatever they needed to do to help him. Unless you know these people personally you will never know the truth, and if you did know them and spoke out publically you obviously wouldn't have been friends. Just because Jett had famous parents does not mean that he should be subjected to their public lifestyles, in all my viewings of anything with the Travolta's they are very protective of their child's privacy.
If you look at the posted photo of Kelly walking hand in hand with Jett, you will see that Jett is walking on his tiptoes, typical of many children with autism and is widely recognised. This is self-stimulatory behaviour that "grounds" a child because the pressure gives him a "sense" of where he is.
Regardless of this obvious factor, we don't know what "we don't know" with respect to the Travolta family so we should allow them to grieve the loss of their son. Every child is precious regardless of ability.

I totally agree with Mark from Brisbane Australia!! Now we should all leave the Travoltas alone so they may grieve in peace. May God bless all of them and bring Jett safely home on Angel's wings. RIP Jett!! Sending lots of love, prayers and hugs to the Travoltas and their family/friends in this time of need!!
Hey guys! have you ever been to Paris. We learned very quickly that you stay close to your loved ones in that city particularly at night. I can't imagine what it would be like if you were being photographed and stalked by nutcases all the time. Yes, it may seem the child had some issues but to diagnose from this film and crucify a father for being protective in this situation is insane. I give him credit for doing what he could to keep the boys health issues private and not let him be torn apart by the "inquiring minds"
My son is 19 has had siezures since he was 5. Is on medication and continues to be under care of top docx and childrens hsptl but continues to have them even with med. So whos to say that they did or didn't give him meds that it would even work. They lost a son that we can all tell they loved or he would not have been with them. Let them grieve!
As a mother of 2 children with disabilities and having to bury my son, I can only hope that people show more compassion and less judgement on the Travolta's. Their hearts are broken and they deserve some compassion.

As a mother with a fierce maternal instinct, I simply cannot imagine not going to any lengths to protect or help my child. Autism is not shameful, and it can be helped by the Medical Personnel (Pediatricians, Psychologists and whatever medications carefully prescribed as per the diagnosis. Jett never had the opportunity to challenge himself because his parents, under Scientology Teachings, chose their "religion" over their son. Autism is an illness, illness is treated. Add the fact that he was found by a "caretaker" who apparently was not in the room when he fell and hit his head is disturbing. He should NEVER have been left alone in a shower (or anywhere else for that matter). His "caretaker" should have been instructed by the Travolta's to be in the same room with him at all times. That is common sense. I feel very, very sorry for the Traolta's. But not treating the brain in the same way as any other organ in the body is beyond belief. I fear that Scientology and their exteme medical non-practices could be and probably have been the cause of the loss of
other mother's children. But the Travolta's responsibility is to their children, regardless. They are the adults, Jett and his sister are the helpless children.
This is a very sad day for John and his wife Kelly and Ella-not to mention all Jett's family and friends who loved him. To the parent whose child had seizures and still the child has them-is heartbreaking-as a medical professional I realize medication does not always work. My feelings after viewing the video in Paris with Jett and John and family was that there was close supervision via Jett. My question is this: Jett was reported last 'seen' on the night of January 1, 2009 going to the restroom. Jett was found by his caretaker at 10:00 a.m. in the bathroom and he was barely alive and died on his way to the hospital. I realize Jett had great care-in Paris, but what happened in the hours Jett was dying? Besides the seizure meds-where was his caretaker?
I am saddened by the loss of life for Jett. He will surely be leaving a huge void in the Travolta family. I have 14 year old son with Autism and have cared for him all of his life. Why? Because he is my son and I love him. But you don't see that do you? You can't see passed the walls of my home, if you could, I am sure you would see he is getting the best care possible, but you'll never know it because you cannot see with your own eyes...just like you cannot see passed the walls of the Travolta home...please do not judge...especially what you cannot see. Let the Travolta's grieve the loss of their beautiful son, let them be reminded of the happiness he brought to their lives, let those be their last memories of Jett, not harsh criticism from media about how his life was lived. If this was my son, I would not want that for my family and the cherished memory of my child. Let their tears flow and give them comfort...
Yes, it is sad that Jett died. But for you people who said " God bless his family", you obviously don't know very much about Scientologists. You see, they don't believe in God. They believe they ARE God!! How do you think God will bless them? Maybe the blessing was to Jett. Maybe God gave Jett grace when he took him home. Yeah, I know some of you won't understand. But when you turn your back on God, God will not be blessing you. In Jett's case, he was never given the opportunity to know God. So God had mercy for him. The healing didn't come with some crazy scientologist detox. The healing came by a God who had mercy for a boy who had suffered enough. To John and Kelly, the day WILL come when the LORD will say "I never knew you". But your son will be in heaven and you will never see him again. L. Ron Hubbard has led you down a path of deceit. And your day is upon you as pestilence and plague has entered your house. God have mercy on your souls.
to Carla that stated "To John and Kelly, the day WILL come when the LORD will say 'I never knew you'" maybe one day they will put their faith in Jesus. Do not say they are going to hell, because one day they may repent. If they do not, the Bible says they will lose their souls, but if they repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus, they will go to heaven.
I happened to see a beautiful family exit a restaurant together, hand in hand. I would love to see more of this the world over. I believe John and Kelly to be two fine people who are doing their best as parents, trying to stand for something. Even if it is scientology, it's something. I personally have little faith in western medicine. If one of my children were diagnosed with an illness or affliction I would do my best to get him/her the care he/she needed but that doesn't necessarily mean I would allow a doctor to pump my child full of experimental drugs with multiple side effects and expect an outcome any different than what the Travoltas are witnessing today. I don't hold anything against John and Kelly for trying to take a more natural, less invasive approach to the treatment of their sons condition. Jetts death is sad and unfortunate and I wish their family the best of comforts right now in their time of sorrow.
The death of a child is a terrible tragedy no matter how you look at it. We all have our own faiths and beliefs that help guide us in our daily lives, and I think many of you are being too harsh and judgmental. Stop and think for a moment how you would feel if someone judged and condemned you for acting on your own personal faiths and beliefs. The Travoltas were taking care of their son in a way they saw fit. They followed what they believed in and weren't breaking any laws. It is clear that they cared for and deeply loved their son. Let them grieve, and let Jett’s soul rest in peace.
This is so sad. What a beautiful kid. It does make you wonder if anticonvulsants might have helped him somewhat for his condition. I hope John and Kelly get through this okay. Such good beautiful people. Oh, I wish them all the strength in the world. No one should have to suffer through this.
Those people on this site who condemn the travolta's for not caring for their child adequately should be ashamed. Who made us judge and jury of these people?
John Travolta in the video tenderly grasps his sons hand. It seems apparent that both parents are anxious that their son is ok with all the flashing of lights and people everywhere due to their parents celebrity status.
If the Travolta's have chosen not to acknowledge their sons actual disability then that is their choice. As a parent of a child with a incurrable brain tumour and secondary autism which is severe I have met many parents with a special needs child and every one has a diffent grieving time some may be a second the others a lifetime, this cannot be changed or in anyway judged as in affect we are walking a very diffent path to families with neuro-typical children.
If Jett was left to eat junk and use playstation - so what, I am sure this was not all the time. Have we not at one or other time when we have had friends over let our children play on playstation or eat junk.
I have on occasions been in very embarrasing situations with my son and as he gets older his cuteness diminishes when he behaves like a younger child - people would do well not to ever pre-judge a situation, take a deep breath and think ok this person is somewhat delayed and I need to be tolerant of differences.
Lets have a day of celebrating differences to make us all better people...
In any interview I have seen of John Travolta and his wife Kelly they come across as caring, sane and beautiful people. They deserve respect at this time, not attack.

While the Travolta's deserve our respect and privacy. It is important to recognize when the Church of Scientology kills another victim.
Everyone who wants to judge should remember that you too some day may be judged by the same standards that you are judging the Travolta, I am the Mother of six biological children, three of which have passed on. One six weeks after birth one at 16 years and one at 24 years. Believe me they do not need people making bad comments on them as parents when we don't personally know them, we just watch them in the publics eye. Believe me as a parent right now they are judging themselves and possible could start blaming themselves or each other. Death of a child destroys marriages, somethings makes the relationship stronger if they lean on each other and do not surcome to blaming each other or oneself. Leave them to grieve their lost in peace without judgement the same way you would like to be left. The journey they are on will last a lifetime and it doesn't get easier you just learn to live your life without your loved one and pray for the day that you will see them again. My thoughts are with them and I hope that their memories will fill their hearts so that they can carry on their life for the sake of thier daughter who needs her parents. God bless and good luck on this life long journey
how dare you ? not normal?what does that mean?even if he had mental disorders of any kind .... he was still normal.... no matter the illness or their beliefs , you can see the love in their eyes and you can tell by looking at him that he was well taken care of.How easy it is to judge people you don't even know personally. You should be ashamed

It's funny really how people think they know all about the personal lives of celebrities. So they denied he was autistic to the public. Is it really any of our business? Maybe they didn't want the extra attention for his sake. We don't know what kind of treatment he was or was not receiving. IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS! (And they were not required to make him the poster child for autism just because they are stars.) Leave these people alone. All we know for sure is that they lost their child. Please show some compassion!
If you truly ARE a Christian or follower of GOD, then you should know the passage, "Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy." -- Proverbs 31:9 At the same time, the Bible also states the famous Matthew passage: "Judge not lest ye be judged" (Matt. 7:1) and yet, John states: "Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment." -- John 7:14:
The bottomline is, that the Bible contradicts itself in many ways, and if 10 people read these passages, you will have 10 DIFFERENT interpretations on each of these findings.
Religion aside, I think that anyone that has a child can relate that the Travolta's ultimately loved their son Jett and tried to do what was best for him. If you are not a Scientologist, then you do not know ALL of their beliefs. I am not a Scientologist, but I am not passing judgement...that's GOD's job. You are making assumptions that they did not give him medication, but maybe he was allergic to medications that could be given and that was not an option for him. Oh, and autism is not cured by medication nor is Kawasaki syndrome...look it up on AskJeeves.com or WebMD.com. From what is personified in public, both Kelly and John looked to be loving parents to Jett (undisputable by the posted video) and deserve the respect of solitude while dealing with the tragic sudden loss of their child. Death is a part of life, and know one knows exactly when they will die, or where. Even Jesus, knowing what his fate would be still yelled out from the cross, "Father, why hast though forsaken me?!" If we did know when we would die and how, then obviously, we would avoid that date and place at all costs and our families would make sure they were protecting us that day from danger and death. I believe that Kelly and John did that for Jett on a daily basis. Travolta has had to deal with the fact that his obsession for cleanliness may have contributed to what afflicted his son. That's a horrible fact to understand and I cannot imagine how much guilt he may have suffered before Jett was diagnosed. It is indiscriminate and untimely that this happened to Jett...let the family grieve.
I am just sad for John and Kelly..no parent deserves to lose a child.
my heart goes out to the Travolta family .And it's nobodys buisness if thier son had autism.
This death was not unforeseen. People in Hollywood have been fearing it for the last few years. Despite what some have posted, it IS against the law for parents to withold life-saving medical therapies from a minor child. And if a death results, the parents can be charged with 2nd degree homicide or manslaughter. This is no different than those idiot vegans who starved their baby to death by feeding it nothing but barley water & almond milk. I have a nephew who is developmentally challenged--the physical/behavioral resemblance to Jett Travolta is eerie. At least the poor child is at peace. The only good thing to come from this is that this might finally bring Hubbard's bad sci-fi religion down around his disciples' ears. It definitely spells the end of Travolta's usefulness to $cientology, if not his career.

To the people here who've made negative comments:
You've absolutely no decency or basic human compassion. You really ought to be ashamed of yourselves, but it's unlikely that you possess enough positive character to be so.
Whatever was/is going on with this family, as a result of the personal issues they've dealt with regarding their son's health, it's none of your business! They have absolutely NO obligation to you, the public . . . or to the press, for that matter.
They have suffered the death of their beloved son, brother and family member. Their grief is real and it's deep.
The only thing you should be offering them is sympathy, and prayers.
May God pour Himself out upon this family as they mourn their loved one's death. May He be a real and true presence to each of them, providing them with the assurance of His unending love and grace.
The Travolta Family now has their own Angel watching over them...Peace be with them.
The Travolta Family now has their own Angel watching over them...Peace be with them.
Jett couldn't fasten his own seatbelt. The manny had to do it.
These religious comments are laughable. The Travoltas are $CIENTOLOGISTS! They do not believe in God and they do not believe in psychological disorders in any way! THAT IS WHY THEIR SON DIED! Sad, but TRUE!!
John and Kelly (as scientologists), do not recognize autism, therefore, Jett received no needed treatment or therapy. I don't mean to sound insensitive or imply they didn't care about their son, but I think when your personal beliefs don't recognize autism as a real problem and you don't end up getting your son the care he needs, then yes, Jett was neglected. This is obviously why he was in the care of a "caretaker" and wasn't discovered until a day later.
Scientologists believe mental illness is psychosomatic, that people who suffer from it are defective human beings, and teach that it should be treated through spiritual healing. They reject the use of drugs to treat mental conditions. The drugs that could have lessened or ended Jett's seizures were rejected. Travolta's attorney revealed that Jett appeared to have died from the head injury rather than the seizure after hitting his head twice – on the bathtub and the wash basin.
If the Travoltas weren't so brainwashed by their "religion", their son probably would have survived. He's in a better place now.
John's brother, Joey has long begged John to get the treatment Jett needed.
Joey learned about the disorder when he interviewed 65 autistic youngsters for a documentary called Normal People Scare Me.
The idea of the film was to teach people about the syndrome, which can spark violent seizures. Joey also formed the group Actors for Autism which helps sufferers make films.
A friend said, “Joey could see Jett in every one of those 65 kids he spoke to. It was so obvious Jett was autistic just from spending 5 minutes with him, but the cruel fact of their religion meant his parents simply did not accept it.”
John and Kelly vehemently deny claims that Jett had autism, but say he suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome. Health experts say there is no link between Kawasaki and seizures, yet it is common for sufferers of autism to have fits if they go untreated.
Autism is often associated with epilepsy and in the US nearly half of autistic children are prescribed anti-convulsion drugs.
About a third of people with autism develop epilepsy with many suffering seizures which begin in adolescence.
There are dozens of drugs designed to help.
Jett’s stated condition of Kawasaki is highly unlikely to have killed him or given him seizures, experts say.
Autism expert Sean Rhodes said, “If a child with autism is not diagnosed it can be very dangerous. To ignore the work done in the past 60 years means vital warning signs can be missed.”
Scientology kept the Travoltas from acknowledging Jett's autism. They saw it as a weakness. What a tragedy!
I have 2 autistic children one with apsergers and one with no speech with pervasive developmental disorder, autism is not a mental illness it is a neurological illness that causes a brain allergy, it can be treated with a gluten free diet for some children and no colorings or sugar not all children are cured by diet, there is nothing to be ashamed of having an autistic child , it helps you to learn and to understand what life is like for them, i just saw a dvd called mozart and the whale an fantastic movie about 2 people that have autsim and have a relationship, i thought i would just like to share with others that are on the austism spectrum, take care
Did anyone else notice that in nearly every picture of Jett growing up, he is either wearing a hoodie of some form or another or something else covering his head and in some shots, his fingers are splayed in an awkward position. I'm asking the parents of autistic children, could these be typical behaviors? I believe that Jett was living on borrowed time. No matter how many nannies/caretakers, bells and whistle warnings when he opened doors...when the wrong circumstances lined up, as they did for Jett, the outcome would be tragic. The Travoltas are grieving I'm sure and they can believe in Fairies or aliens or whatever, I don't care, but for the rest of their lives, in their quiet hours, they will have to deal with their decisions. Jett is finally in a better place.
What disturbs me is that this child that they say had seizures was last seen by anyone the day before he died going into the bathroom and found the next morning at 10am. My questions to these two parents is if they acknowledged seizures or even the kawasaki disease why was no one concerned as to where Jett was all night. Dont these people say goodnight to their children or do they have such busy lives that they automatically assume someone else was taking care of him. I dont care how busy a parent is you have to stop and kiss your children goodnight. There are so many what ifs. If the parents of Jett would have checked on him to say good night perhaps they might have been able to do something. If they would have allowed medicine for their son he would be alive today. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging a child with any impairments or autism. Its as if these people were embarrassed by their son in some fashion if never acknowledging and seeking treatment for what he truly had. Jett had parents that were still together thats rare in todays society, in all the pictures they seem to love him deeply and you know they are hurting now very much so. But I have a hard time understanding that these parents would not have checked on their son all night knowing that he had seizures, or kawasaki disease. Its interesting about the above comments pertaining to scientology and medicine, I remember reading about Tom Cruise and how his beliefs refused anti depressants. In every picture with Jett you can clearly see that he had some illness. Such a tragedy rest in peace Jett may your spirit remind your parents that they still have a daughter and perhaps will not take the same ill faited road twice.
How can you see such an obvious situation and just throw up your hands and say don't judge and then YOU JUDGE everyone else that has judged Scientology, the Travoltas, or whatever . . .HYPOCRIT, I believe, is the word. I'm a parent and I judge things and people all the time - it's necessary!
How do you feel about Jahovah Witnesses who won't give their kids blood transfusions or operations? Scientologists are only allowed to go see doctors WHO ARE SCIENTOLOGISTS! (Lisa Marie Pressley left that part out of her speech!) The Travoltas kept going to doctors to find an acceptable (By scientologies standard) diagnosis and it could NOT be autism.
It's sad about Jett but you do him a huge disservice by pooh-poohing the obvious and then acting all righteous when others try to point it out. Maybe this thought will help - Scientology is a cult
